if implemented this would greatly help and to jihad crusader the only reason this would make npcs better than players is that the players are lazy..... they could do this if they wanted.... seriously

Reminds me of Command and Conquer. Now all they need is a button on the keyboard defaulted to "scatter".

I'm unsure on this one... If I'm with henchies, (I hate heroes, overly glorified gold + time wasting henchies imo) I try and avoid any possible encounters except the ones where I have no choice because it's really boring trying to go through the whole game on all seven characters. If I'm doing a needed quest that mainly involves talking to various NPCs in explorable areas then I'll run whenever and wherever possible, using the AI team mates as cannon fodder to save my ass, just so I can save time. The only time I take my time with the game is when I'm taking a character through it for the first one or two times, after that I just want it finished on the rest of them. I'm all for things that speed up progression on all my characters, so although this is a very well thought out idea and a good overall suggestion, I'm sitting out on this one.
